PULL OF FAMILY AND THE FAMILIAR BECAME VERY STRONG. DAKOTAS, HOWEVER, I DID FEEL
LIKE I WAS SACRIFICING SOME ON THE CAREER FRONT. IN SOUTH DAKOTA SEEMED LIKE A
DAUNTING TASK. ASKED TO ATTEND THE ABERDEEN
MARRIOTT INFANT MORTALITY REVIEW BOARD MEETING. THE INFANT DEATHS IN THE REGION. MORTALITY EARLIER BUT I SAID
YES. OPPORTUNITY TO ADVANCE YOUR
PROFESSIONAL NETWORK AND BUILD YOUR PROFESSIONAL REPUTATION. THE TASKS THAT NO ONE ELSE
REALLY WANTS THROUGH THIS BOARD, I MET
SCIENTISTS AND CLINICIANS FROM HARVARD, COLUMBIA, AND STANFORD
COMING TO SOUTH DAKOTA FOR YEARS, HELPING WITH INFANT

MEETING IN DC. CARDS AND MICROPHONES IN FRONT
OF EACH SEAT. INTIMIDATING ENOUGH, HERE WERE
SOME OF THE PEOPLE AT THE TABLE. THAT DEFINED SUDDEN INFANT DEATH
SYNDROME. THAT CREATED THE TRIPLE WHISK
