An Invitation to Join the Changemaking Celebration
I don’t want to start with my past. I want to start with our best future. Ok? My name’s Tom Sine. I’m an author, I’m an older guy, but I am so impressed with the new generations coming along. I have to tell you I have very good news for you. The under 35 called Gen Y and Gen Z are the first digital generation and because this they’re much more globally aware than their parents or grandparents generations and more than that, they really care about the issues of justice, economic justice, environmental justice, and a remarkable high percentage of them want to use their lives for change making. This is very good news and I think the spirit of God is stirring these young people up largely outside the Church. I think God is using these young people to awaken the Church to the compassion of Christ for neighbor, for world. That we are called as faithful followers of Jesus to be change makers. So this whole new movement, Changemakers, a new generation, I want to invite you to do what they’re doing. I want to invite you to consider living like you give a damn, and join the change making celebration with a lot of young people who are already in the trenches creating new forms of church, they’re in the streets working with the poor, and we’re going to celebrate the opportunity for all of us who claim to be followers of Jesus to join these young people that are looking for authentic, authentic faith. They’re looking for people who walk the talk. And this is opportunity to discover how God can ignite our imagination and help us to create whole new ways of living, but new ways to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors, in the name of Jesus Christ.
